#1 Web Design Rule

Building a website can be a complete headache at times. Especially if you're after something more than just the 5 page static website. There is just one rule that you need to keep in mind to make things a lot easier for you.

Rule: Keep It Simple

Your aim is to create a professional looking, fast loading web site in, preferably, as little time as possible.

What's a fast loading website?

Put simply, a fast loading website is one that will fully load into your visitor's web browser before they have a chance to click away.

By keeping your website simple, you'll be able to create your website faster without any unnecessary technical glitches. With the time you save, you can concentrate on more important things like building traffic to your website.

What's simple?

Well, this one is harder to explain because "simplicity" is different for each type of site. Let me just put it this way. You only want to have on your website, elements that will help your visitor in some way or give value to your website as a whole. Just because you CAN add something, doesn't mean you SHOULD.

This will become clearer as you formulate some sort of plan for your website.
