A week ago, I received a support request telling me that the Flash movie tutorials in my PDF based ebook, was not working. I’ve been selling this e-book for over a year now and never had a similar complaint. So, I told the person that there must be something wrong with his PC set up because no one else have had the same problem.
Today, I received another support request from a different person, with the same problem. Now, this is beginning to look suspicious. There’s definitely more to this than just a PC problem.
So, I hopped over to PlanetPDF forums to check out if anything’s been going on that I was unaware of.
And lo and behold, there definitely is. Apparently, Adobe’s Reader 7 does not get along with the Flash 8 player. Adobe Reader 6 reads Flash movies just fine. It’s Adobe Reader 7 that seems to have a problem.
Macromedia had admitted to this problem at:

Took quite awhile for this to sink in. I mean, who would have expected this? After all, isn’t Adobe in the process of taking over Macromedia?
The question now is, what to do? I guess I can only expect more trouble tickets on this issue. The only way around this as I see it, is to re-install Adobe Reader 6 … for now. At least until Adobe releases a Flash friendly update.
If you have a copy of “How to Create a Website in 5 Days”, my apologies for this but I’m sure that Adobe will have this fixed pretty soon …. I hope.
Warm regards,
