One of the events that I missed out on, while I was away from my break, was the release of WordPress 2, also known as WordPress Duke. But that’s a good thing because a month later, WordPress 2.0.1 was released which fixed 114 bugs.
So, what do I think about WordPress 2.0.1? If I loved WordPress before, I am heads over heels madly in love with it now.
I’ve only just upgraded to WordPress 2.0.1, so I haven’t come across all the changes. But here’s what I have noticed so far:
- The look and feel is much cooler. The new blue color scheme gives me that fuzzy warm feeling inside as I log in to my WordPress admin area
. - The improved interface also makes it easier to write posts.
- WordPress also now has an in-built WYSIWYG feature. Nothing fancy but it’s much, much easier to do basic formating for posts.
- Oooh … and now I can resize the textarea when I’m writing my post. This is definitely handy.
My WordPress upgrade is still in its early days. If you’d like a full list of the new features of the latest WordPress, just hop over to the WordPress web site. But as I see it so far, if you’re already using WordPress, it’s definitely worth upgrading to 2.0.1.
