Today, I did my usual morning thing. Go to my web site. Instead of being greeted by my normal homepage, I had this ugly “Page Cannot Be Displayed” staring in my face. I went to all the other web sites I have that’s hosted on the same server and I received the same messages.
Normally, I would be stay cool and just contact support. But this time, because I had been following Lynn’s web hosting experience, I was more on the edgy side. My first reaction was, “OH NO! It’s happening to me. I just switched web host. This can’t be…”
I was so panicky that my fingers started stumbling over my keyboard keys as I started to type out the URL to HostGator’s support area.
I posted my support request at 07:16 PM. After I posted my ticket, I went to my sites just to double check then I returned to my support ticket and refreshed it and presto, two minutes later at 07:18 PM, I received an update that the problem has been solved. And again at 07:19 PM from a second support staff to say that they have double checked the site and everything is OK.
I quickly went over to my site and lo and behold, everything is as it should be.
Impressed just not enough to explain how I feel right now. My other host has always been great with support. But a 2 minute turnaround time with a followup a minute later is beyond me. I can see myself getting spoilt with this sort of support.
I can’t begin to emphasize to you how important support is. If you’re still in the process of choosing a web host, make sure you that this is the first criteria you look for.
