Sending a large file can be quite a task if you don’t use the right tools or resources. I remember trying to send an image file to a client through my email only to find it was (almost) impossible to send it. It took FOREVER to send. The client had a tight deadline and neither of us had an FTP site, so it was a huge dilemma – until I was lucky enough to find a provider that allowed me to send my file safely and easily, but most importantly, it was free!
However, I was lucky to have found the site then, but I have to say we are much luckier now because we now have so many file transfer site providers to choose from.
The ability to transfer large files easily over the internet has become a huge phenomenon, especially for many small business owners on a limited budget who cannot afford fancy “high tech†software.
Using traditional email to send large files has become a challenge because now many files are becoming larger and larger. Using regular email to transfer these large files has become an inefficient and time-consuming task. Who has time to wait!
Not just that, attachments are not seen as friendly things these days due to the fear of viruses.
Well, now there are a slew of internet based systems to facilitate the transfer of large files. These providers make using their service an easy task. You simply sign up for an account with them and you’re in business! It’s really a piece of cake!
These services are especially good for graphic designers, production companies and other small to medium sized businesses that are constantly sending large files, because it gives them access to file sharing software at a very low fee – actually for some providers there’s no fee at all.
One of my favorite free file sharing sites is www.YouSendIt.com. It’s so simple to set up an account so that you can send large files easily.
You simply go to www.YouSendIt.com and click on the “SIGN UP FOR FREE†button. You can send files as big as 1 GIG! According to YouSendIt.com, you can send files through their service that are too big to send through regular email. www.YouSendIt.com is easy to use, fast, and secure. But if you require more storage space up to 2 GIG’s, you simply pay a monthly fee of $4.99. That’s a drop in the bucket for such a great service. But best of all, you can keep track of all the files you’ve sent and received.
It’s a very easy process to sign up. You simply enter your name, email address and create a password. Then once you have finished the sign up process, you are instantly sent a verification email with a link so that you can access and begin sending files. It’s that simple!
YouSendIt.com offers not only maximum upload file size, but it also offers users a larger number of downloads per file, your own contact list and quick email support for any problems you may experience. This is one of the easiest and most reliable large file sending providers that I’ve ever used. They are reliable and there are no worries when I’m sending my files. I always know support is just a click away.

I just signed up for yousendit. it really works well except for all of these extra windows that keep appearing for both the sender and the reciever asking you to enter their competitions. apart from that it works well.
