I was just reading Lynette’s post over at Tech Based Marketing. I’ve been coming across a lot of discussion lately about Site Build It vs XSitePro. Before I continue, I’d just like to point out that:

  1. I’ve never tried XSitePro but have read quite a lot about it and have seen some of its video tutorials. Plus, I know people who do use XSitePro
  2. I used SiteBuildIt when I first started out but no longer use it anymore. You can check out my review back then here.

So, what I say may be a teeny weeny bit off track.

Having said that, here goes …

In a nutshell:

If you know what you’re doing and you’re in a hurry and you need to get your site up and running with your content and affiliate links all in place in a few clicks of the button … then go for XSitePro.

If, on the other hand, what I just said made absolutely no sense to you … then stick to Site Build It.

In a bigger shell:

XSitePro is mainly for someone who have at least a vague idea of what internet marketing is all about. So, you should have at least read a hand full of internet marketing articles and you’re familiar with some of the marketing techniques available. You know … SEO, article marketing, linking strategies. You should also be familiar with the different ways you could earn an income from your web site – Adsense, affiliate links, your own products.

If you know absolutely nothing except for the fact that you’d like to build a web site and earn money from it, then SiteBuildIt is probably a better way to go about it.

When you sign up with Site Build It, you not only have a whole set of web building and optimizing tools at your disposal, you also have a manual on how to go about creating a web site that will make you money. From finding a profitable idea, to keyword generation with their BrainStormIt software, to building web pages that will rank high in the search engines.

I truly love the manual. I believe that everyone who wants to start making money from the web should read it because it teaches you how to be a responsible netizen and to produce a web site that other netizens can be proud of. Not just a bunch of crappy keyword tweaked web pages that offer content with no real value but will rank highly in search engines and will trick visitors into clicking adsense ads. I’ve come across so many sites that literally has content that don’t make sense. Just pieces of phrases put together.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.

The thing with Site Build It is that you will quickly outgrow it if you are one of those who are quickly and constantly learning about new ways to do things … pretty much like me ;-).

I stopped using SiteBuildIt because I found that it was not as flexible as I needed it to be. I needed to install some scripts and with SiteBuildIt, you can only use what they offer you. You have no direct access to the server where your site is hosted and therefore, cannot just do as you please.

Conclusion

It really depends on which category you are in. Either way, both products are superb.
